Commercial Concrete for Oklahoma City Projects

FDZ Construction works with general contractors, facility managers, developers, commercial property managers, building owners, and industrial facilities across the Oklahoma City metro. Whether you are bidding a new pad, replacing a failed dock apron, or repairing trip hazards on an occupied site, we scope the concrete work so it fits the rest of the project.

On GC-managed jobs we review plans and specs, confirm slab thickness, reinforcement, and joint layout, and lock pour dates around other trades. Certificate of insurance and bonding documentation is available as part of the bid process. On owner-direct and facility work we schedule around operations — after-hours, weekends, and phased sequences when a dock, warehouse aisle, or parking lane has to stay open.

We dig into base conditions before recommending repair or replacement, place rebar per the load requirements on the drawings, and saw-cut and seal joints on schedule. Estimates are written after a site visit or plan review — not over the phone. Call (405) 458-4805 with drawings, photos, or a scope list. Request a commercial concrete estimate.

From Plans to Sealed Slab

  1. Scope & coordination — We review plans and specs with your GC and engineer and lock in a pour schedule that fits the other trades.
  2. Site prep & grading — We excavate, grade for drainage, and prepare the subgrade for stable, properly shaped ground.
  3. Base & compaction — We install and compact 6+ inches of aggregate base and proof-roll it for design loads.
  4. Forming & reinforcement — Forms are set to grade and the engineered rebar schedule is placed and inspected before the pour.
  5. Pour & finish — We place 4,000+ PSI concrete and finish to spec — broom, steel-trowel smooth, or burnished depending on use.
  6. Joints, cure & seal — Control joints are saw-cut within 24 hours, the slab is cured, joints and surface are sealed, and we walk it for final inspection.

Commercial Concrete FAQ

How thick should a commercial concrete slab be?
Most commercial slabs require 5–6 inches minimum. Warehouse floors with forklift traffic may require more, with engineered rebar schedules. We specify per your load requirements.

What PSI concrete do you use for commercial work?
We specify 4,000 PSI minimum for commercial slabs and 5,000+ PSI for heavy industrial applications.
