Yukon Patios Settle When the Base Wasn't Right

Most failed Yukon patios we replace settled on bad subdivision fill — the same root cause we see on Yukon driveways. The slab can look perfect when fresh and develop an uneven section by year three as the fill compresses underneath.

The other common failure is the slab-house joint. Water trapped against the foundation accelerates the clay's swell-shrink cycle under the slab edge, and the patio lifts away from the house. Two failure modes, one upstream solution: read the base, detail the drainage, reinforce properly.

Every Yukon patio we pour gets the existing base proof-rolled before any forming. Soft spots get re-prepped. The slab gets graded away from the house at minimum 1/8" per foot, with a sealed isolation joint where it meets the foundation.
