Asphalt Driveway Paving in Oklahoma City
Asphalt driveway installation, replacement, and extensions for homeowners in Oklahoma City, Edmond, and Norman. We review the site, drainage, and how you use the drive before preparing a written estimate.
New installation
A new asphalt driveway on a prepared base.
A new drive is more than a surface. The width, the turn, the garage threshold, and the street connection all have to shed water and carry the vehicles that actually use the house. We review that layout in Oklahoma City first, then write the driveway scope. Edmond and Norman homes are reviewed the same way.
Tell us how you use the drive — daily cars, a trailer, a slope to the garage — and whether the yard already holds water at the edge. Those notes belong on the estimate form.
Replacement
Replacing a driveway that has already failed.
Replacement is for a drive that has broken through, rutted, or let water sit in the pavement. The existing surface comes up, the base is reviewed, and a new asphalt driveway is placed to the planned grade. If only a corner has failed and the rest still carries cars, that may be a localized repair instead of a full replacement.
A photo of the whole entrance helps. It does not replace a look at the site. The written estimate follows that review.
Extensions
Widening or lengthening an existing drive.
Where the lot and the grade allow it, an extension can be estimated with the existing asphalt. The joint, the thickness, and the drainage have to work with what is already there. An extra parking pad beside the garage is a common request; so is a longer approach that currently dumps cars onto the lawn.
If the existing drive is the wrong material or has already failed, the honest path may be replacement of the whole entrance rather than a patch onto a failing surface. We say that in the estimate when it is the case.
What the driveway sits on
Base, grade, and drainage.
Asphalt follows the grade it is given. A low edge against the garage slab, a drive that sheds into a bed, or water standing at the sidewalk will return in a new surface if those conditions stay. The estimate looks at the existing pavement, the compacted base, thickness for how the drive is used, and a path for water to leave.
When the water problem is a yard, a downspout, or a collection system rather than the driveway itself, that work is estimated on our yard drainage page. Culvert and tinhorn crossings under an entrance are estimated on driveway culverts.
Surface or rebuild
Resurfacing versus rebuilding.
Resurfacing or an overlay can fit when the surface is tired but the base still carries traffic after milling or prep. Rebuilding belongs when the base has moved, drainage is trapping water in the pavement, or the failures are too widespread for a new wearing course to last.
That call is made after looking at the driveway, not from a catalog of treatments. Milling, when it is part of the sequence, is preparation so the new asphalt can meet the garage, the sidewalk, and the street.
During the work
Access and the written process.
A full replacement usually means a period without that entrance. An extension or a defined area may leave more of the drive usable. We do not publish a standard closure length here. Access is written into the estimate after we understand the property and whether it is the only way in.
The process is straightforward: send the address and the work you need, we review the job, and you receive a written estimate. There is nothing to accept online. Call (405) 458-4805 if you would rather talk through the driveway first.
What affects the number
Cost drivers, not a published price.
Size, existing pavement, base and drainage work, thickness for the vehicles, access for equipment, and whether the scope is new, replacement, or an extension all move the number. We do not publish asphalt driveway prices on this page. The written estimate is the number that applies to your address.
Material
Considering a concrete driveway?
If you want a concrete surface rather than asphalt, use our concrete driveway page. That estimate follows the concrete scope. This page stays residential asphalt. The asphalt hub still covers sealcoating, striping, and milling as in-page summaries.
